The Mystic Marriage of St. Catherine
by: Parmigianino
The artist Prmigianino followed many of the traditional styles of painting during the renaissance. His painting of St. Catherine is very life like. He focuses on the intricacies of the people and clothes depicted and also puts the main focus of the painting at the center, with everything else geometrically facing the center. The uses of color also relates the painting of St. Catherine to the renaissance time period, Parmigianino uses light and dark to show important, minor, or specific details of importance in the painting.
